Work Your Vibration

March 26, 2014 · In: Happiness, Uncategorized

Have you read any popular New Age books like The Secret? Let’s get “California” and hippie today, then translate.

The power of positive intention is profound. That’s the good reason behind why it’s so healthy to plan a vacation WAAAAY in advance so that you spend lots of time beforehand in excited anticipation which affects everything else in your life. Do you have something planned?

One way to describe this “phenomenon” is to use the vibration analogy. Happy feelings have a high vibration while unhappy ones have a low vibration. When you are vibrating at a high frequency, just as in physics where like attracts like (the law of attraction), you attract other high frequencies. When you are around those with high frequencies, you can be raised up and when you’re around low ones, you can sink.

Taking a moment to check in with myself, my vibration and those of people around me is a ridiculously easy way to get myself into healthy atmospheres and out of unhealthy ones. Where am I resonating compared to my surroundings?

A lot of times I have so much positive energy that I’m immune to even the most negative person. Every once in a while I need to be around someone higher than me.

Have you seen the experiments with plants where they are kind to one plant and it thrives and then the plant that they are mean to dies?

Use the formula above to go beyond your mood and increase wonderful things in your life too. Attract wonderful new job opportunities, friends, even finances.

People use many methods like mediation or prayer to raise their vibration. I like to visualize what I want and use fun methods to reinforce my wants like a photo posted to my mirror or setting aside time to daydream.

When I am wondering why I’m not getting something I want in my life, I take some time to see if I have the right attitude to make it happen.

I don’t want to get too WOO WOO on you at once but there are natural remedies to assist in adjusting your vibration to be at healthy levels. I’ll talk about some of them in future posts if you’re interested in this “witchcraft.”

I’m linking this to Ashley’s Little Friday on the Grits Blog this week.

I looooove this kind of stuff!! Please keep blogging about it. I believe that receive what you put out in the universe. Typically I can be fairly pessimistic but I have been trying to adjust my attitude and it’s taken about a year but I am finally starting to have a more positive outlook – and it’s paying off!

I absolutely believe in the power of positive thinking. I think it has been established that healthy people tend to get sick less, even – the way we think influences us to our core and everything and everyone that surrounds us to a degree. I like the vacation analogy, because that is what I remind myself off when I am feeling down: any upcoming trips I may have on the horizon! 🙂

Attitude has a HUGE impact on health! TOTALLY! We’re on the same page with having things to look forward to. If there is nothing, I have to plan something! I like to get other people into it too to build the anticipation and group elevation!

I’m so thrilled for you! I didn’t invent it. 🙂 I have studied many different ways of basically the same idea and this is just a compilation/my interpretation/how it applies to me. I’m really encouraged that you’re inspired by it and it will lead me to write more about this in the future. 🙂 Make some magic happen and tell me about it! Thanks!

I wish I had some of your positive energy. Life has kind of been beating me up lately. I did recently cut out a “toxic relationship” I had with a female family member and I will say that it has helped.

I’ve totally felt beaten up at times! It’s interesting that when I maintain my positive attitude, any negativity around just seems to drop off. The mismatch just doesn’t jive, ya know? It’s hard to shift relationships. I hope you are getting closer to where you want to be!

I’m intrigued by this idea of vibration energy. I’ve been trying to stay away from negative people to try reduce negativity but it would be great to increase positivity as well. Definitely interested in learning more about this “witchcraft” from you Christina 🙂

I’ll totally do some posts on vibrational medicine. Glad you’re interested! It’s true, when our internal environment is peaceful and solid, the outside cannot bring it down. 🙂 I totally have those times when I need to separate in order to improve and strengthen myself!

Comment the word WOOD for everything you need to k Comment the word WOOD for everything you need to know to make choosing wood floors simple.

I make it easy and answer things like “what direction do I lay them?”

I was pregnant when we were renovating this home and I make different kinds of decisions when I’m pregnant. Anyone else?

I started thinking I wanted tile-wood-look flooring or fake wood because I saw all these Texas homes that did not use wood.

There must be a reason?

Was it the weather? The cost bc the homes are big? Pets? I thought I’d be responsible and choose something hardy…

Except I only like wood!

It’s really a personal preference and a lifestyle thing.
I LOVE natural materials and there is nothing like wood flooring to make a home feel cozy and expensive.

Almost 7 years later and we are still in love with these.
The feeling of your home is so powerful in creating the movie in your mind of what a dream life really is.

Renovations can feel overwhelming. It’s all about prioritizing what’s important to you and knowing what you love.

The high kitchen shelf from Nancy Meyers’ “It’s Co The high kitchen shelf from Nancy Meyers’ “It’s Complicated” kitchen was living rent free in my brain.

I’ve lived so so many places as a kid and adult. Whenever I move into a place and it feels sterile, I stress!

I need a lived in feeling and this dining room was giving me temporary apartment vibes.

Seriously, decor and design can make ANY space feel like a home. Your home.

I spend a lot of time sanding this. It was actually really therapeutic actually as I was processing the passing of an old friend.

I was also caught grief sanding in my garage wearing what I call my urban YETI uniform when a neighbor dropped by.

I looked like a crazy person (I am). It gave me a laugh.

I love how it turned out. It gives the space an opportunity for decorative objects, and feels like a cozy little roof.

It also turned the blinds into a sort of inset blind vibe that elevates the tone.

I had these outside mounted so they match the rest of the room where some windows require it.

It’s 8 inches deep. That’s the measurement that felt right and it fit my future French soup tureens.

You’ve got to take a chance if you want something incredible. It’s just nails, paint and time. It holds the feeling of your home.

When your home reflects what you feel inside, your experience in life just improves everywhere.

The baby diaper brown paint was stealing my joy! I The baby diaper brown paint was stealing my joy! It felt overwhelming to figure out the style, solutions and repairs this patio needed.

When you’re overwhelmed, it’s just that you’ve got to figure out your priorities.

When Everything feels equally important the list is too long and you feel paralyzed with where to start.

This goes for your day today-unspiral from the overwhelm and focus on the priorities.

When I was ready to stop looking at that terrible color, I got out the paint samples and started imagining the deck all white.

What helped me what visiting a nearby winery that had a similar structure. It was Texas but still had a European vibe and fit into the landscape.

Get out there and soak up some beautiful inspiration.

I made this project my focus for a month and then called the painters and then moved on to the rest of the exterior in chunks. Then it was time to call the painters!

to say I’m obsessed with it would be an understatement.

It brightens this whole room

The green trees on the property just pop against it. The blue of the water looks even more crystal clear.

This big blank wall in the living room made me fee This big blank wall in the living room made me feel like I was living in a box with no personality or charm.

It felt so drab and cold.

Without even measuring, I purchased the sideboard on the spot at @theporch in Round Top and brought it home.

It fit!

I knew it was me because it had neutral tones and a french feel.

It has evolved over the years and it almost feels like a built in part of our home at this point.

The large art was a definite yes. I had seen it for years and it felt so me.

That’s how I know an investment piece is right-it will feel so YOU!

The formula for this vignette:
A base piece of furniture
Large scale art
Picture Light
Frames
Lamps
Piled books
Objects of interest

You can feel even in this small area before and after design that the feeling has changed!

Tiny changes create massive emotional shifts.

Now this space makes me feel comforted, rich in life and rooted.

Comment COLOR and I’ll dm you the exact colors/bra Comment COLOR and I’ll dm you the exact colors/brands that we used to achieve this look.

We lived here for years before tackling the exterior and it was kind of painful.

Every time I’d drive home, I knew I loved my house but geez it was so BROWN!

It felt like an old mission or outpost.

It didn’t feel like me and it kind of dragged me down.

I’m a woman who lives a beautiful life, what’s wrong with my house? ha!

I kept looking at photos of other homes to see what could be achieved here.

although I couldn’t find exact matches, I got inspired and bold.

I knew I was always drawn to white and yellow homes the most so I just started testing.

It was horrifying part way through because there is no going back!

Remember this: You have to see it in your mind first and then it can become a reality. It’s ok if it takes a few steps in the wrong direction, just keep at it and the look will come to life in your mind.

You’ll know when it’s right. Then call the painters!
