The Friday Roundup

March 7, 2014 · In: LIFESTYLE, Uncategorized

1. I literally had a shoe blow-out this week. The largest pair of flats I own tore (a cute pair of Minitonka moccasins). I went to DSW, of course.

So these were the shoes that were screaming at me:

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

These are the shoes I actually bought:

They are a DSW exclusive brand apparently and they are deliciously comfortable. I can’t believe it!!! I think they look good with black pants.

**Best part: on sale and clearance.

2.  This happened in a parking lot this week! AAAAHHAHH!!! I had a crazy sugar craving and drove through many traffic detours to get these Primo donuts (one was for Chris, ok). I decided to go with it and let myself have an indulgence day. Typically, if I don’t, there will be a resulting week or so of daily sugar binging.

3. Got a tip from Kate of The Small Things Blog-This Bali Sunrise candle from Target smells extremely similar to the Volcano/Capri candles of Anthropologie. I think I’ve mentioned that I’ve recently become a Target fan and kind of cheap about things…it has been a transition!

Bali Sunrise Candle smells like volcano capri

4. Love this J. Crew giveaway. You can still enter here:

5. What an amazing group of women and comments on yesterday’s post on feeling to heal. Sometimes I like to just clean or OCD my way through painful feelings and sometimes I want to go for it so I can move on sooner!

The flats are lovely, they look exactly like a pair from J.Crew that I have been lusting after for ages!! LOVE cobalt blue, I have been kind of obsessed with it this past winter.

I like the blue shoes and I would have definitely picked those too, also maybe because I own a pair of leopard print ones 🙂 And the sugar craving I so understand it, I had the exact same one this week…I love donuts and I try to stay away from them as much as I can but somedays we just have to live a little 🙂

Oh, I need some leopard in my life, Andreea! I’ll have to find some more comfortable options soon! I’m telling you, my donut/sweet cravings are a lot more challenging to overcome in pregnancy. I used to be somewhat decent at having will power!

Absolutely LOVE the shoes! I was just out shoe shopping recently and almost picked up some blue flats. But now I think I will have to check out DSW! And I’m in pure donut envy right now. I wanted them so badly yesterday and wasn’t able to have any. So now I’m just drooling over your picture hoping I get a do it soon! Please explain to my how you are only, JUST NOW, discovering the amazingness that is Target?!?! You’ve obviously been deprived!

Thank you! Oh I had a sugar week! Target?! lol Well, not sure but I was never into this store! Probably b/c I grew up mostly overseas (back here at the age of 16). Last year, when we lived in Seattle, There was a Target close to our home and I was “initiated” by a friend who showed me the coolness of Target. Also, I like a lot of things Lauren Elizabeth had on her site too! 🙂 I’m making up for lost time!!! OH how I love their affordable maternity clothes!

Yes, my feet have truly grown up and out. It’s crazy! Luckily it’s warm enough here to wear sandals most days but I needed something for “cooler” days. 🙂 This candle is AWESOME and it’s such a great price!

I love both of those shoes, so pretty! I wish I could wear flats now! But I think I have to wait a few weeks 🙂 those donuts look pretty tasty! It’s hard to find good donuts here in Sweden but there’s one place that has really good ones. I might have to go there tomorrow 😉 Happy Friday!

Have you considered a “pattern interrupt” element Have you considered a “pattern interrupt” element to design your space and make it stand out?

A design element that just doesn’t make total sense but adds the zest to the room that just makes it?

But why is it so hard to figure out the exact thing that will make your space special?

You’re an emotional decorator! You’re someone who walks into a room and knows she loves it but can’t explain why.

When was I going to bounce back like that?

Everyone was being vulnerable so when it was my turn I said, “I still can’t fit into my old jeans.”

One of the moms looked at me and said, “I just bought new jeans.”

I was shocked! She looked amazing!

I thought that if I bought jeans for my current “larger size” as in “not my ideal size,” it would mean I was settling for my current state that I didn’t want.

Then it hit me.

When you see yourself as worthy and do things that make you feel great-like new clothes that fit, your mind does something you’re not even aware of.

when your brain says, “I look cute” then you’re just going to continue to look better on a subconscious level.

Why?

Your self image improves and when it does, you do things in alignment with a good self image like eating better or moving more or learning how to do your hair at its best!
