You know those “game-changer” items that you didn’t know HOW you survived without? That is this Bebe Au Lait nursing cover for me right now. I try to be so minimalist sometimes and figured a baby blanket would suffice as a nursing cover. NOPE. Picture a ghost-lady…we were both hiding under a blanket, suffocating, sweating and NOT BLENDING IN.
E-ssential, people! I think everyone should have one-you could do all kinds of private things in public.
I wish the strange old man on a plane next to me once would have used one to do things like privately count all the cash in his wallet.
I’m considering getting a couple more just because I will be wearing one of these permanently for about a year.
Moral of the story? Buy that thing that is going to make your life better TODAY. Then please tell me what it was!

Oh, I’m all about getting things that help to make your life a little more convenient! 🙂 I’ve been away for awhile and so I’ve been missing your baby posts 🙁 But I hope all is well! Baby is so adorable!! xoxo

Jessica! I’m glad you’re back and hope you had a great trip/break! Life is good and slow! Xo

ooh that looks like a good idea where it keeps you covered but you’re not suffocating. will have to remember this 🙂
Christina Warren says
Yes. It takes some getting used to- the breast feeding in public. I’ve come a long way! This is really low key looking and not many people even notice me! I think.

Those things ARE pretty genius! I love the pretty pattern, too. 🙂 I have to think of something to buy… and then I’ll get back to you. 😉
Christina Warren says
Thank you! I really like the pattern too. I saw you were going to LA! Let me know if you want some suggestions for places to see or eat!!

You’re awesome! Thanks! I’m actually not sure where I’m staying yet- hopefully I will be finding that out soon. 🙂

I was hoping that old man on the plane part wasn’t going where I thought it would go…thank God!

Bahaha. I totally know that looked like it was going somewhere strange! Lol that guy was a character!
Rebecca @ Hello Creative Blog says
Hahahaha…all kinds of private things in public…oh my mind. Stop it.
Christina Warren says
Bahaha magic tricks, superman costume changes, whatever! Lol 😉 it’s a portable telephone booth with curtains. Chris said I should have a shelving unit installed in it!

It’s great you found this nursing cover as it sounds like it has made life so much easier. It probably doesn’t hurt that it’s actually visually appealing as well 🙂 My game changing product of late is my UV umbrella. Yes I’ve become one of those ladies who totes an umbrella in the sun but it also keeps me cool too which is a big plus 🙂 Have a wonderful week Christina!

Love this, Rowena! You know, our tour guide in Ephesus, Turkey, had a really nice one. She said that the cost if the umbrella was not so much (maybe $40??) compared to the shipping and handling (maybe a few times more $) she had to pay to get it in Turkey! It was really big, black and silver-the kind that has a long, non-collapsible pole. She works outside nearly daily so it’s so with it. I remember all the women wearing driving gloves in Japan! It takes work to protect the skin and the benefits are so huge in both health and beauty. Very cool, Rowena! Thank you! I do enjoy this design!

YES! I have been looking for one of these ever since my mom and I saw a lady using one in a restaurant and my mom awkwardly went up to her to discuss it lol.

Stephanie, that is awesome. I totally approached people about their strollers when I was pregnant and out on walks at the park. There is one that looked awesome and the women basically willingly offered a 19 minute sales pitch on it. It was the bugaboo. I looked it up when I got home and it was a bit more than I wanted to spend but a lot of people really loved their Uppababy Cruz and that’s another I kept seeing around. That’s what we ended up getting (registry). We are loving it! I even got asked by a newly pregnant lady in Target, what kind of maternity pillow she should buy. Isn’t it nice to share the info? I love it. 😉 ask me about anything! Xo

I know, I wish I wasn’t so shy about this stuff! I’m sure I’ll be coming to you with questions though!

Well now I know what to get when I have one – some day…hopefully by next summer.
Christina Warren says
Oh I will have a list for you, Ashley! It’s all so personal but it’s invaluable to at least have some friends narrow your search. I was SO lost before some girlfriends pointed me in the right direction. You are going to have so much support here! XO

Oh I hated the cover! I read a post somewhere about using a two shirt method. Actually a think cami/tank under a tshirt. You can also by nursing camis, but I didn’t. Pull up the outer tshirt slightly, undo nursing bra and pull down cami. Latch the babe and the over shirt serves as a shield while you are latching and covers your top boob. 😉 I have nursed in all sorts of places ‘uncovered’ with this method. When I want to be slightly more discreet I will throw a muslin blanket around my neck. The extra long ‘tails’ make for extra coverage. Best spot was on a crowded airplane from LGA with a rather large man sitting beside me. Don’t think he had a clue. 403 days, going strong!! <3
Christina Warren says
Ha! I totally love the idea of the double shirt. I have been wearing maternity tanks or bras and they feel kinda frumpy but easy to use. I imagine that soon I’ll be able to bread feed I just about anything, especially as my comfort with it in public increases! This cover gives me a lot of confidence-I’m pretty shy about the public feeding now. Omg on the plane! Wow I’m wondering when and where our first plane trip will be! You seemed to be traveling a lot! I am so inspired by your 403 days!!! Amazing. I totally understand why so many people struggle with this but as I get the hang of it, it’s something that is coming more naturally. I hope to follow suit! Thank you! xo
