Our good friends told us about the cute flat they had stayed in when they went to Paris a few years ago. I LOVE the idea of renting a condo versus a hotel in places like these where you really want the whole lifestyle experience. Above is the entrance to the square of the building we stayed at. Aren’t those roads amazing?
Chris set it up online and we were given directions from the airport. We took the train from the airport to Notre Dame and walked a short walk from there. We used the code we were given, picked up the key and traveled up 4 flights of tiny windy stairs. It reminded me of a snail which is how the city of Paris’ layout is often described. No, I have still never tried escargot.
Later that evening, the owner stopped by for our cash payment for the rental. The price was incredibly reasonable. It was about $140 a night where many local hotels were at least double that. He was so kind and showed us things like the wifi password etc.
The place was clean and charming with anything you could need (just as our friends described it). I got to wash our clothes from the cruise. I could iron Chris’ suit and my wedding dress. The showers were hot.
The closet had plenty of room for our hangables with extra towels and linens.
There was a TV but we only watched it for a few minutes.
The view into the courtyard was so interesting. In the evening, friends would gather with wine and play bocce ball.
I LOVE these ceiling beams. The high ceilings and windows really made the place feel more spacious.
The double doors on the right are the shower, sink and washing machine. The one on the left (partially covered by our front door) is the toilet room. Remember “Bathrooms and Romance?”
Here is the little (unused) kitchen.
AND the bed. You can see in the mirror that there are pillows in the reflection. Those are for a daybed behind me that served as a couch slash clothing staging area for us. This place would be great with kids too.
We were close to the Louvre and Notre Dame. There were cafes right downstairs in our building and tons of places to eat nearby.
