Food Math and You’re Not Dying, You’re Fat

May 13, 2013 · In: HEALTH, Uncategorized

Are you one of those people whose only daily math consists of estimated calorie counting to stay slim?

My “Beautiful Mind” sees arithmetic like this:

If I eat breakfast like this….

Juicing

Some of this during the day…

Trader Joe's Tofu

…and a bowl of this..

noodles Get in some kind of activity like this…

tennis

Then I can have one of these….

…and be skinny!

Well, this winter we did a lot more of this:

…and this…

Hanger Cafe

So, after Chris’ annual physical about a month ago, he was told to see a specialist.  Well, the specialist told him that he was fat.  Phew, we thought it was something serious.  I should have gotten the hint when my mom sent me home with burdock root prepared 3 different ways with, “This is good for losing weight.  Give it to Chris.”  Now we’re back on track with the food and exercise.  It had been a stressful couple of months with a lot going on in our lives and getting through a Seattle winter of darkness and hibernation.  We’re back!

How do you stay healthy?  What kind of food math or justifications do you have?

Haha! I usually have a banana for breakfast then I work out. Then the rest of the day is just a struggle to control my appetite, specially when there are sweets around!

Sweets are my downfall! 🙂 Wow, I would pass out if I only ate a banana now that I’m pregnant. I’ve turned into an eating machine! I do feel good though! Your discipline is amazing!

One day, I decided to stop letting my circumstances determine the outcomes that I wanted.

Here he was mother to four, barely sleeping at night, feeling Uncomfortable in my body and sluggish.

Dare I say it but I felt old too.

Then I just decided that, even though I was in this stage of life, I was still going to achieve my goals and have a body that I wanted.

I changed who I was on the inside.

I started telling myself that I was vibrant and beautiful and full of energy and life.

All the sudden I started to believe it.

I ate healthier automatically.

I lost over 20 pounds.
