Meat Loafies

Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 20 minutes mins
Total Time 30 minutes mins
Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey choose one with some fat
  • 1 cup bread crumbs use one of these: traditional, panko, or almond meal (ground almonds)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • olive oil for cooking in pan

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine bread crumbs, eggs, soy sauce and ketchup.
  2. Add uncooked ground turkey to the bowl and gently fold it into the mixture.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large pan (or 2 pans to cut down your cooking time) over medium/low heat. I use stainless steel pans so I have to use some fat for all cooking. I use a couple tablespoons of oil per pan.
  4. With slightly damp hands, roll little balls of the mixture and flatten to create your mini meat loafies.
  5. Cook patties for about 4 minutes on each side and flip when halfway cooked through.

I’m always looking for healthy recipes my kids will love! These meat loafies are crowd pleasers, kids and adults alike. They also keep well in the fridge so its easy to grab these as an easy snack, lunch item or reheated for another meal.

The name for these comes from my days in the Navy when I worked with a lot of pilots. Pilots have cool call signs or nicknames. One colleague’s last name was MEAT and his call sign was “Loafy.” It always cracked me up so I gave this cute name to one of our favorite meals.

We have these about once a week! I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Stop your scroll! This can save you. One day, I d Stop your scroll! This can save you.

One day, I decided to stop letting my circumstances determine the outcomes that I wanted.

Here he was mother to four, barely sleeping at night, feeling Uncomfortable in my body and sluggish.

Dare I say it but I felt old too.

Then I just decided that, even though I was in this stage of life, I was still going to achieve my goals and have a body that I wanted.

I changed who I was on the inside.

I started telling myself that I was vibrant and beautiful and full of energy and life.

All the sudden I started to believe it.

I ate healthier automatically.

I lost over 20 pounds.
