How to know what’s right for you

October 5, 2015 · In: Happiness, Uncategorized

Coffee Donut & Paper Sunday

There I was, eating an entire mini sheet cake, a jar of kimchi and there were weeks where I didn’t even think about coffee. Oh, I must be pregnant again…

Oh…HI!!! I’ve been nesting in our new home and adjusting to moving back to San Diego. I was a totally different person when I lived here last! It has been interesting reacquanting myself with my most favorite place on earth.

When I lived here before I was a busy acupuncturist, social butterfly and adventurer. Now I’m married with a 16 month old and I’m tired. HA!

In the past couple of months we’ve had houseguests, family gatherings, unpacking, San Diego-ing (zoo, hikes, burritos) and baby raising. The biggest source of stress for me has been whether or not to reopen my acupuncture practice. Many very nice patients and fellow colleagues have asked me and encouraged me to do so and I miss it very much.

The mental energy going toward contemplating this decision was actually very consuming. Then when I thought I may be pregnant a few weeks ago (I’m not- BTW) I got super excited about the idea of spending my days savoring mommy hood and preparing for growing the family.

There was my answer.

So, if you’re looking for a magic 8 ball type of answer to your burning questions, take some time to really daydream your most happiest outcome of a situation, no matter how impractical it may seem. Then GO for it! Please tell me what your contemplating!

So, I’m a full-time mom and a part-time photographer. I also hope to get back to regular weekly blog posts and Instagram is my new BFF.

I enjoy living vicariously through you! What I wouldn’t give to be a full-time mom again. But for the immediate future I am happy as a full-time employee, full-time mom, full-time soccer mom and when-i-feel-like-it Instagram picture poster!

After I finished breastfeeding our fourth baby, th After I finished breastfeeding our fourth baby, the varicose vein on my thigh was becoming really prominent.

It looked so bad but wasn’t sure if it was just cosmetic thing or something I should get checked out for my health.

I was avoiding it and “waiting until I had time” to deal with it as a mom of 4.

I finally made time and l’m so glad I did.

This was the start of my health journey at 45.

You can have a home cooked meal on the table in a You can have a home cooked meal on the table in a few minutes without even turning on the stove on a Monday.

This makes our weekdays so much less chaotic, and I don’t feel like a scullery maid-I feel like I have a personal chef!

I get to focus my time and energy on connecting with the kids or taking a moment to rest.

Throw these together really quickly this weekend for a smooth week.

The mini meat loafies are a quick snack, packable lunch item or dinner main.

The turkey taco meat is so quick and you can make so many different dishes with it.

PS it’s been a staple food in my health journey.

I like to cook my veggies day-of or have some washed and prepped in containers.

Have you considered a “pattern interrupt” element Have you considered a “pattern interrupt” element to design your space and make it stand out?

A design element that just doesn’t make total sense but adds the zest to the room that just makes it?

But why is it so hard to figure out the exact thing that will make your space special?

You’re an emotional decorator! You’re someone who walks into a room and knows she loves it but can’t explain why.

I’m here to help!

Part II of Translating what we love about this space-Nancy Meyers edition!

This iconic kitchen from It’s Complicated, is so funny because Jane is in the works to finally renovate to get her DREAM KITCHEN and we would all love to have this one as it is right now!

Why?

Notice that there are layers of detail from floor to ceiling and even ceiling!

If you want your home decor to feel cozy, there’s nothing like decorating every surface.

Keep it neutral if too much business overwhelms you.
When I spotted this window shelf in the movie, I thought it would be the perfect way to add some interest to our very boxy dining room-my pattern interrupt.

All the moms at the mommy and me meetup looked so All the moms at the mommy and me meetup looked so amazing. I wondered what their secret was.

When was I going to bounce back like that?

Everyone was being vulnerable so when it was my turn I said, “I still can’t fit into my old jeans.”

One of the moms looked at me and said, “I just bought new jeans.”

I was shocked! She looked amazing!

I thought that if I bought jeans for my current “larger size” as in “not my ideal size,” it would mean I was settling for my current state that I didn’t want.

Then it hit me.

When you see yourself as worthy and do things that make you feel great-like new clothes that fit, your mind does something you’re not even aware of.

when your brain says, “I look cute” then you’re just going to continue to look better on a subconscious level.

Why?

Your self image improves and when it does, you do things in alignment with a good self image like eating better or moving more or learning how to do your hair at its best!
