The Baby Shower’s Coming Up!

April 16, 2014 · In: LIFESTYLE

Thank you so much for the very clear feedback! I’m still gathering the info and I’ll address it all soon.

I received my invite to the baby shower this week! WOW! This is so exciting for me! We had been trying for a year to have some sort of wedding/party since we got married at the courthouse, in a small Korean traditional ceremony and then took photos in Paris. Are you tired of me linking to those yet? It can be so hard to get people together from all over. So our final-go was going to be a co-ed baby shower/”hey, we’re married” party.

Well, again it just didn’t work out sooooo one of my best friends, Kelly, insisted on throwing a ladies shower for me in San Diego, where many of my friends live. Yeehaw! L.A. friends are driving down and my sister will be coming in from Seattle!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKelly surprised me with these gorgeous invites from Wedding Paper Divas. The card stock is pearly and elegant.

I “flowered” over the details. 😉

I bought these fake flowers at Michaels today for some experimental flower crowns I’d like to have for photos at the tea party themed shower.  P.S. they’re on super sale this week so check them out if you want to try this look.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI have been to so many wonderful showers and thrown many as well. I am so excited about this! I have a hard time letting others do things for me but I am so fortunate and willing to let people do these things for me now. Must be the hormones? Well, it’s a good lesson in receiving. I’m so grateful!

That is very kind, Thien. I do feel so cherished right now and it is so special to me after a year of feeling sort of out-of-touch with the world when we lived in Seattle. XO

Thank you, Recekah! I was so surprised by what she chose and I LOVE them. I am very sentimental and love to have things like this on my bulletin board or eventually scrap/photo-booked. The flowers are surprisingly beautiful for being fake!

Thank you! Totally surprised by how pretty the flowers were…I am SO into fresh flowers but in many of the tutorials I looked up, they used fake and it makes life a lot easier!

I love the invites! That cardstock is fantastic! I also have trouble letting anyone do things for me. I like to be the giver and I am a really awkward receiver. Have a great day!

I had to simplify weight loss because I have so many other things I want to pour my energy into!

You see me doing a million things but I’m actually impatient and lazy. I’m a Taurus who loves to lounge and eat donuts.

I found a way to eat donuts, lose weight and do it with the least effort.

The food is easy. The prep is easy. I don’t even think about it anymore.

I started my journey in the summer and it was the best life upgrade of the year.

There have been times when I thought gosh how did I get into this situation?

I had to remind myself that I could get myself out of it.

I had to remind myself that I had the power to create the life that I wanted.

I hope there’s something that you want that you’ve decided to experience for yourself.

There are days when I am a super DOER and I also have heartburn.

I want less days like that and more days that feel peaceful regardless of the list.

2. Earning rest-If I feel like eating donuts and sleeping on the sofa all Saturday morning, that’s awesome. Don’t need permission and don’t need to apologize-just enjoy.

It’s so frustrating to feel like you can’t improve It’s so frustrating to feel like you can’t improve your life. You feel like you need more- money, creativity, luck.

That’s actually not true though.

When I fall into this trap, I do this…

Here’s the trick.

When you ask yourself “why is this so hard” your brain goes to work finding every reason it is.

BUT when you ask “why is this so easy for me?” “Why is it all falling into place?”

Your brain has to find proof of that instead.

Different question. A completely different experience.

Keep asking that question all day! Stop asking “Is it working?” Just do it!

Try it on your house. Your body. Anything you’ve been stuck on and tell me what happens!

How many times was I going to send this listing to How many times was I going to send this listing to my friend and my husband, asking if it’s worth a 45 minute drive to go pick this up?

If I waited any longer, it was going to be gone.

But what if that was a sign that it wasn’t for me?

where was my sign from the universe?

I just knew this was going to give our family room the cozy vibe I wanted.

Everything else in the room was new so it needed something to feel warmer, unexpected, collected and personal.

I kept holding the phone up to the couch trying to picture it.

It belonged here.

She was asking $100 and I asked if $80 would be ok. It was deal and we were off on a long trip, deep into the city.

Was this going straight to Goodwill?

She put the cutest note on top and her roommate helped up load it into our truck.

I dumped a bunch of water on it and gave it a good scrub plus some scraping off of candle wax. No problem!

Truly, what’s meant for you will never pass you by.

When you search and shop with that vibe, all the right stuff will arrive in your feed and you’ll get the perfect piece.

No kidding, within a day of DECIDING my coffee table was going to be on Marketplace, it showed up.
