There are those institutions that are a sign of having enough time, energy or success to enjoy them. A lot of them are free. An old roommate introduced me to the “pink” load of laundry. I had obviously known of the darks and whites. I even used bleach or later Oxyclean and later yet Seventh Generation for whites. The pink load had eluded me.
The pink load is for all pinks, purples, corals and reds in your wardrobe.
After you go pink load, you can’t go back. You realize how your super hot pink panties lose their luster when you throw them in with the dark denim. You pull them out of the dryer and sigh, nostalgic of the sparklers they once were. It doesn’t come back. You can Oxyclean them but the gleam is GONE.
The pink load is girly and makes you feel like you have time for luxuries. It says “I’ve got my stuff together.”
Is this normal in “American” households? My Korean mom is a domestic diva but pinks were new to me as an adult.
What else have you learned from roommates?
