What do you want to begin today so that in a year or two you’re like, “Wow, I’m so happy to be a year into…or I can’t believe I did that this year!” I am addicted to instant gratification so it’s challenging for me! Remind yourself that incredible things can happen in a year. You could run into a friend who you haven’t seen in a year and they could be married with kids! A friend could have joined the military, gone off to Afghanistan and returned with a Purple Heart. A person could start and grow a business, career or an educational program during that time.
I heard the coolest thing yesterday-the hair stylist I go to in Seattle (and LOVE) told me she had just taken her police officer exam and passed. Over the last year of seeing her, I got to know that she was married to a police officer, had three kids, loved her city and was a Crossfit fanatic. NOW she was ready to do something she had always wanted! As a wife of a police officer and a mom, she felt she had to do a flexible job to be there for her family and now it’s time for her! She is tall, gorgeous and super fit (Crossfit BABE). I was absolutely inspired.
So start telling everyone you know that you are in the market for a partner, go for the first run of your marathon training, make the appointment to finally get that knee surgery, order all the Harry Potter Books, download the plans to build a backyard smoker, call the kitchen remodel contractor or sign up for medical school pre-reqs this week.
What am I doing? I’m reaching out to people in the blogging community. I wish I could become best friends all at once at an amazing Blogger’s Ball Gala but it takes time to find people to jive with and get to know them. Totally alright-much easier than keeping houseplants alive.
Tell me what you’re working on or what you did!!
