H54F: Bacon For ME

January 17, 2014 · In: TMI, Uncategorized

Happy Friday! How’s life? I’m going back to that life-long resolution of letting go a bit and relaxing.

1. Loving this crazy manicure this week! Notice the outfit I’m wearing…most likely taken in my pajama/dog walking outfit. The technician used gold glitter powder to create an ombre effect. These hands belong in Miami. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

2. This is a breakfast I made for MYSELF this week. Until this day, I had never made bacon just for myself. Bacon is for sharing. Bacon is for guests. Bacon has less calories when you eat it in the company of others. No, now bacon is for me. I made it for 2nd breakfast. First breakfast was cereal with Chris that morning. Then I actually made a special trip to the grocery store for this stuff. I felt deliciously guilty. That’s fresh-ground lemon pepper on that bagel.bacon eggs and bagel breakfast

3. Linking up with the ladies via Lipgloss and Crayons for this giveaway…which is still going! Click HERE. Thank you to those who have already participated! katespade

4. Seeing the baby’s face was pretty far out. I keep looking at a picture of him and asking myself, “Who does that look like?” What kinds of answers am I expecting? Hopefully something like Keanu Reeves (not Bill & Ted Keanu but Matrix/Point Break Keanu).

5. Getting ready for another giveaway! Stay tuned!Target gift card

Linking up with The Lauren Elizabeth!!! XOXO

So sweet how you treated yourself – must have felt like a very special breakfast. isn’t it silly how some breakfasts require a company to taste better, though?! 🙂

The nail idea is very sweet and so is the phone cover. Very pretty.

    have a great weekend! x

Well, hopefully you have some “backup bacon” in your freezer. I had a roommate who taught me to have both “backup bacon” and “backup cookie dough” at all times. 😉

haha Dean and I definitely ate an entire thing of bacon relatively recently…. my dad just couldn’t get over the fact that we in fact had finished it all in one sitting. It’s sooo good!

Like a whole pack of Trader Joe’s Hickory Smoked thick bacon or the Oscar Mayer thin variety? Lol. My mother swears it’s (pork) the reason why the people of Okinawa have the longest lifespans. You’re going to live forever!

It looked so bad but wasn’t sure if it was just cosmetic thing or something I should get checked out for my health.

I was avoiding it and “waiting until I had time” to deal with it as a mom of 4.

I finally made time and l’m so glad I did.

This was the start of my health journey at 45.

This makes our weekdays so much less chaotic, and I don’t feel like a scullery maid-I feel like I have a personal chef!

I get to focus my time and energy on connecting with the kids or taking a moment to rest.

Throw these together really quickly this weekend for a smooth week.

The mini meat loafies are a quick snack, packable lunch item or dinner main.

Have you considered a “pattern interrupt” element Have you considered a “pattern interrupt” element to design your space and make it stand out?

A design element that just doesn’t make total sense but adds the zest to the room that just makes it?

But why is it so hard to figure out the exact thing that will make your space special?

You’re an emotional decorator! You’re someone who walks into a room and knows she loves it but can’t explain why.

I’m here to help!

This iconic kitchen from It’s Complicated, is so funny because Jane is in the works to finally renovate to get her DREAM KITCHEN and we would all love to have this one as it is right now!

Why?

Notice that there are layers of detail from floor to ceiling and even ceiling!

If you want your home decor to feel cozy, there’s nothing like decorating every surface.

Keep it neutral if too much business overwhelms you.
When I spotted this window shelf in the movie, I thought it would be the perfect way to add some interest to our very boxy dining room-my pattern interrupt.

When was I going to bounce back like that?

Everyone was being vulnerable so when it was my turn I said, “I still can’t fit into my old jeans.”

One of the moms looked at me and said, “I just bought new jeans.”

I was shocked! She looked amazing!

I thought that if I bought jeans for my current “larger size” as in “not my ideal size,” it would mean I was settling for my current state that I didn’t want.

Then it hit me.

When you see yourself as worthy and do things that make you feel great-like new clothes that fit, your mind does something you’re not even aware of.

when your brain says, “I look cute” then you’re just going to continue to look better on a subconscious level.

Why?

Your self image improves and when it does, you do things in alignment with a good self image like eating better or moving more or learning how to do your hair at its best!
