🏃‍♀️ I was on such a fast track:
Right out of college, I was headed to Naval flight school — and then just as quickly, I was kicked out for being too short to fly.

The very next day, I was driving from Pensacola to Newport, Rhode Island to learn how to drive ships and run engineering departments.

My whole life, I associated speed with ambition.
The faster I moved, the more successful I thought I was becoming.

But motherhood changed me.
It introduced me to a different kind of ambition — a quieter kind.
A kind of ambition that’s measured in presence, not promotions.

In how well I manage my energy, not how many tasks I check off-(I relearn this so many times and each time I get back on track quicker- 👋 Generators).

In the kind of role model I am becoming — not just what I am achieving.

Slowing down and living in my energy didn’t erase my ambition.
It refined it.

When I honor my energy, there is still room for my personal dreams too.

Your kids won’t be little forever. The woman you’re becoming will be with you for a lifetime.

Slowing down isn’t falling behind — it’s finally running your own race.

The reading didn’t make sense to me at the time

The reading didn’t make sense to me at the time but it’s interesting how life unfolds.

Recently I told my Dad that I was very content and he said, “Well that’s good because up until now, your life has been kind of hard.”

While I didn’t see it that way, I can understand that it has definitely been a period of trial and error.

From painful relationships, loss, to loneliness and a whirlwind of career shifts (Naval pilot dreams dashed, then living life as an acupuncturist) in my 20s to retreating in my 30s and building a foundation with my family.

Now I’m’ starting to come off the roof to reengage.

If you ever feel in a rush to get to a certain place, I want to remind you that you’re in the perfect place that you’re supposed to be at this very moment.

I was so inspired by today’s sermon- the Holy Spirit energizes every one of us to live a life a goodness and joy. We weren’t created to work every single second. We were created to experience joy and love in this life too.

A lovely day to remind us of the love that God has for us. ❤️
