It was starting to get a little embarrassing when family members kept checking in with me to see what I was gonna do with these frames!

You see I kept going back-and-forth between art or photographs and I was waiting to get that all in feeling that never came.

I took the time to ride the emotional wave and I realized that small black-and-white family photos came up most consistently.

Taking action even when you’re 80% sure moves you forward.

I absolutely love how this turned out.

5 ways to tap into your intuition for ease in design:

1️⃣ Check Your Body’s Reaction – Close your eyes and picture two choices. Which one makes you exhale? Your body knows before your brain does.

I hesitated on an entry light forever, but every time I closed my eyes, one kept coming back. That was my answer.

2️⃣ Follow the Excitement – If a choice feels heavy or forced, it’s probably not right. If it gives you a little spark? That’s your yes.

3️⃣ Trust Your Patterns – Notice where you naturally spend the most time in your home. Your intuition is already guiding you—design around those habits.

4️⃣ Make One Change, Then Feel – Shift something small (a chair, a lamp, a rug) and live with it before doing more. Let your space tell you what’s next.

5️⃣ Pause Before You Buy – Instead of impulse decorating, sit in your space and ask: What’s actually missing? Sometimes, it’s not a thing—it’s a feeling. My dining room had functioning furniture, but it needed something quirky and personal—like a DIY shelf for collectibles.

I remember the first time we made Christmas cookies together with the big kids, and I had a really breakthrough moment in motherhood.

Making things with the kids is something that I’m good at. It’s something I really enjoy and they enjoy it so much as well.

It’s one of those super fun parts of this job for me and I love sharing it with you.
