FAQ
What is your ethnicity?
My Mom is Korean and my Dad is Irish/Italian.
I am not good at math but make up for it with ridiculous kimchi pancake skills and a mean pasta sauce.
What are the 20+ addresses about?
I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and soon lived in Seoul, Korea where my father was an English teacher (that’s how he first met my mother years prior). Then we moved back to the states where my father became a dentist and joined the Navy. We moved every three years or so and lived in Japan, Okinawa (some people do not consider this Japan), Maryland, South Carolina, Philadelphia and back to Japan.
Then I decided to apply to UCLA to see what L.A. was all about. Next I lived in Florida, Rhode Island and San Diego. In each of these places I sometimes had multiple addresses and very different lives. I have also traveled to Italy, Belize, all over the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Texas, Alaska, Mississippi, Hawaii, Oregon, Mexico, Guatemala and Thailand.
You’re an acupuncturist. Where do you see patients?
Currently, I’m not seeing patients (other than my family). I had a practice in the coastal town of Solana Beach in San Diego, California. I would love to settle there again and re-open it.
Why did you start this website?
I was really inspired by my sister, Tracey, who started a blog about living in Japan and teaching English. Then what actually made me get started and choose the name is HERE.
What kind of dog is Charlie?

His adoption paperwork says “wire-haired Terrier mix.” He looks like a poodle and Bichon Frise. He LOVES wearing clothes. Here’s the story of how I got him. This is what he’d be like if he were a person.
How did you meet your husband, Chris?
Our very dear, mutual friends, Stephanie and Isaac introduced us and the rest is history…
Snorkeling with sharks in Belize. I’m the scared one.
Who is your greatest role model?
My Grandmother. She once called me “old fashioned.” Best. Compliment. Ever.
