The Real Reason You’re Not Manifesting What You Want (It’s Not What You Think)

July 30, 2025 · In: Energy & Human Design

✨Before we dive in: Don’t forget to download your Free Human Design Chart. It’s the key to trusting yourself to live confidently and authentically for a happier life.

Let me guess—you’ve vision-boarded, journaled, aligned your chakras (or your planner), and whispered affirmations into your green tea latte foam…
But alas, nothing is happening.

If you’ve been manifesting your heart out and still feel like the universe has ghosted you, this post is for you.

Before we start—there is nothing wrong with you, but… you might be missing one big truth:

You don’t manifest what you want. You manifest what you are. I’ve done this for finding our dream home to meeting my husband.

Let’s unpack this, shall we?

You Might Be Wanting It So Hard… That You’re Actually Repelling It

This is the first trap we fall into: wanting = lack

The very act of wanting puts you in the energetic frequency of lack.
Think about it—when you want something desperately, you’re also admitting (on a subconscious level) I don’t have this yet… and maybe even I don’t believe I ever will.

So the energy you’re radiating?
It’s not magnetism—it’s resistance.
It’s not “I’m ready to receive”—it’s “I don’t think I deserve this yet but it would be so awesome.”

The universe isn’t giving you your Pinterest board, it’s giving you your resonance. Resonance is the equal vibration you are sending out, reflecting back onto you.

The key is that “you already have it.” That is what you must know in your bones and then, you’ve got to walk around just knowing it and being grateful for it. Hang tight in that space and it’ll show up.

Check In: What Do You Actually Believe?

Take a pause. Right now.

Ask yourself:

“Do I really believe I can have this?”

Sometimes we say we want the dream partner, the big opportunity, the $10K month…
But deep down, we still carry the residue of old beliefs:

  • “Love never lasts.”
  • “People like me don’t make lots of money.”
  • “If I shine too brightly, people will leave.”

Your conscious mind may be scripting affirmations, but your subconscious is running the real show. Unless your beliefs align with your desires, it’s like trying to sail with your anchor still down.

Shift Happens: How to Rewire What You Believe Is Possible

You don’t need to bully yourself into “thinking positively.” That’s spiritual bypassing.
What you do need is gentle honesty.

Here’s how to start shifting:

  1. Catch the belief
Write down what you want. Then ask, “Why don’t I already have this?”
Let your subconscious answer. You’ll be surprised what surfaces.
  2. Question the story
Is that belief true? Whose voice is it? Yours? Society’s? Your 3rd grade teacher?
  3. Choose a new one
Replace “I’ll never be successful” with “It’s safe for me to be seen and paid well.”

Feel into the new truth
Let it land in your body. You’ll know it’s working when your shoulders drop and your nervous system sighs in relief.

Are You Embodying the Version of You Who Already Has It?

Manifestation isn’t about chasing what you want—
It’s about becoming the version of you who already has it.

Want the healthy relationship?
Start acting like someone who already feels loved and respected.

Want the dream home?
Start treating your current space with reverence and beauty (yes, even your rental with the weird tiles).

Want to be abundant?
Make decisions like someone who trusts their resourcefulness.

Embody first. Receive second.

You see, everything is available to you. You have to know yourself and when you know yourself, you realize your infinite potential and worthiness. A great tool to self discovery is your Human Design chart. It’s the fast track to understanding and trusting who you are and when you can do that, you can feel aligned for all that you want.

When I was single in my thirties and decided I was ready to meet “the one.” I knew it was going to happen once I became the person I’d want to be with. I stopped dating, I got my finances in order, my business was booming, I exercised and ate healthy and I got weekly self care treatments. A few months later I met my husband and he proposed 6 months after that.

This Isn’t About Hustle—It’s About Alignment

Yes, action matters.
But inspired action, not desperate scrambling.

Ask: “What would the version of me who already has this do today?”

She might set boundaries. She might send the email. She might finally clean out her junk drawer. (You’d be amazed what clears up energetically when you do.)

You have to examine your habits. It’s where you are putting your attention every day that is going to get you results.

Realize that you spend lots of time on things that don’t lead to what you want? There’s your answer.

You’re Not Behind. You’re Just Becoming.

Here’s what I want you to hear in your bones:
You’re not too late. You’re not too far gone.
You’re simply stepping into the version of yourself who’s ready to receive what she used to chase.

This is the work. This is the magic.

It’s not about faking it—it’s about feeling it, first.

This is your invitation to stop chasing and start allowing.
She’s already in you—the version who has it all.
Your only job now?
Let her lead.

Comment the word WOOD for everything you need to k Comment the word WOOD for everything you need to know to make choosing wood floors simple.

I make it easy and answer things like “what direction do I lay them?”

I was pregnant when we were renovating this home and I make different kinds of decisions when I’m pregnant. Anyone else?

I started thinking I wanted tile-wood-look flooring or fake wood because I saw all these Texas homes that did not use wood.

There must be a reason?

Was it the weather? The cost bc the homes are big? Pets? I thought I’d be responsible and choose something hardy…

Except I only like wood!

It’s really a personal preference and a lifestyle thing.
I LOVE natural materials and there is nothing like wood flooring to make a home feel cozy and expensive.

Almost 7 years later and we are still in love with these.
The feeling of your home is so powerful in creating the movie in your mind of what a dream life really is.

Renovations can feel overwhelming. It’s all about prioritizing what’s important to you and knowing what you love.

The high kitchen shelf from Nancy Meyers’ “It’s Co The high kitchen shelf from Nancy Meyers’ “It’s Complicated” kitchen was living rent free in my brain.

I’ve lived so so many places as a kid and adult. Whenever I move into a place and it feels sterile, I stress!

I need a lived in feeling and this dining room was giving me temporary apartment vibes.

Seriously, decor and design can make ANY space feel like a home. Your home.

I spend a lot of time sanding this. It was actually really therapeutic actually as I was processing the passing of an old friend.

I was also caught grief sanding in my garage wearing what I call my urban YETI uniform when a neighbor dropped by.

I looked like a crazy person (I am). It gave me a laugh.

I love how it turned out. It gives the space an opportunity for decorative objects, and feels like a cozy little roof.

It also turned the blinds into a sort of inset blind vibe that elevates the tone.

I had these outside mounted so they match the rest of the room where some windows require it.

It’s 8 inches deep. That’s the measurement that felt right and it fit my future French soup tureens.

You’ve got to take a chance if you want something incredible. It’s just nails, paint and time. It holds the feeling of your home.

When your home reflects what you feel inside, your experience in life just improves everywhere.

The baby diaper brown paint was stealing my joy! I The baby diaper brown paint was stealing my joy! It felt overwhelming to figure out the style, solutions and repairs this patio needed.

When you’re overwhelmed, it’s just that you’ve got to figure out your priorities.

When Everything feels equally important the list is too long and you feel paralyzed with where to start.

This goes for your day today-unspiral from the overwhelm and focus on the priorities.

When I was ready to stop looking at that terrible color, I got out the paint samples and started imagining the deck all white.

What helped me what visiting a nearby winery that had a similar structure. It was Texas but still had a European vibe and fit into the landscape.

Get out there and soak up some beautiful inspiration.

I made this project my focus for a month and then called the painters and then moved on to the rest of the exterior in chunks. Then it was time to call the painters!

to say I’m obsessed with it would be an understatement.

It brightens this whole room

The green trees on the property just pop against it. The blue of the water looks even more crystal clear.

This big blank wall in the living room made me fee This big blank wall in the living room made me feel like I was living in a box with no personality or charm.

It felt so drab and cold.

Without even measuring, I purchased the sideboard on the spot at @theporch in Round Top and brought it home.

It fit!

I knew it was me because it had neutral tones and a french feel.

It has evolved over the years and it almost feels like a built in part of our home at this point.

The large art was a definite yes. I had seen it for years and it felt so me.

That’s how I know an investment piece is right-it will feel so YOU!

The formula for this vignette:
A base piece of furniture
Large scale art
Picture Light
Frames
Lamps
Piled books
Objects of interest

You can feel even in this small area before and after design that the feeling has changed!

Tiny changes create massive emotional shifts.

Now this space makes me feel comforted, rich in life and rooted.

Comment COLOR and I’ll dm you the exact colors/bra Comment COLOR and I’ll dm you the exact colors/brands that we used to achieve this look.

We lived here for years before tackling the exterior and it was kind of painful.

Every time I’d drive home, I knew I loved my house but geez it was so BROWN!

It felt like an old mission or outpost.

It didn’t feel like me and it kind of dragged me down.

I’m a woman who lives a beautiful life, what’s wrong with my house? ha!

I kept looking at photos of other homes to see what could be achieved here.

although I couldn’t find exact matches, I got inspired and bold.

I knew I was always drawn to white and yellow homes the most so I just started testing.

It was horrifying part way through because there is no going back!

Remember this: You have to see it in your mind first and then it can become a reality. It’s ok if it takes a few steps in the wrong direction, just keep at it and the look will come to life in your mind.

You’ll know when it’s right. Then call the painters!
