Baby Girl Nursery Decor

March 18, 2024 · In: BABY, Design, Motherhood

I am thrilled to share our baby girl nursery with you! My wish is that you get some baby girl nursery decor ideas from wallpaper to wall decor, baby nursery furniture, bedding, rugs, curtains and art!

Rocking baby girl in this room is truly so many dreams come true. You can read Stevie’s birth story HERE. Let’s check out the details of our nursery!

Baby Girl Nursery Inspiration and Vibes

I wanted a fresh feel with vintage accents. Pink was top of mind for baby girl’s nursery but I realized that I kept buying pink toys, pink blankets and if I made the room pink, then I’d feel overwhelmed by my favorite color. So, I chose blue! The swan art was on of the first things I purchased. I shopped some great Black Friday deals, months in advance for many of the items in her room!

The wallpaper is a peel and stick. I was intimidated but OMG it was so easy. DO IT if you’re considering it!

The oval artwork is from Etsy!

I framed some photos of her and I! I have so many more to add. Putting a diffuser in every room provides ambiance and makes it smell amazing! More on diffusing here.

We secured this mirror with wall anchors and love the way it brightens up the room even more. I had seen this dog art print a long time ago and thought a little girl’s room would be the perfect spot!

I wanted blackout curtains for good baby sleep and insulation. These smocked top curtains are blackout plus they have the lighter feeling because of the thin layer of fabric on top.

Mixing Vintage, New and Keepsakes in Baby Girl's Nursery

baby girl room wall swan art, crib, rifle paper company blue and white crib sheet, Anthropologie toddler rivulets quilt, vintage chair.

A vintage chair and pie crust table give the room some charm! I thought of painting them but the warmth of the wood tone gives the room a cozy vibe. I can always paint them later! Facebook Marketplace is my favorite place to shop for vintage. Round Top is also a great spot for treasures!

I randomly found this adorable eyelet pillow online at Kohl’s! Look all around for your collected home!

The crib sheet is from a small shop on Etsy!

A strawberry piece of art I painting, The Princess and the Pea, Cuddle and Kind dolly and a little jewelry box from my childhood at Grandma’s house. I chose a few cute books from Amazon to pick up on the colors of the room too!

The shelves were on clearance and had the perfect little-girl vibes!

Amazon is a great place for baby girl nursery decor like this ruffled crib skirt! Find my favorite Amazon Baby items here.

I found the toddler quilt on Poshmark. It’s a toddler version of the Anthropologie rivulets quilt and discontinued. You can find almost anything decor online-even past season.

Baby Girl Nursery Before

Here is what her room looked like before! It has been a bedroom for the boys when we moved in and then more recently it became a playroom!

We had trim added to the windows, wainscoting on that back wall and some crown molding!

This post is not sponsored by them but Namesake did send these furniture pieces and we adore them!

We chose the Liberty Crib in Warm white, Darlington Dresser in Warm White and the Harbour Electronic recliner.

Using some painters tape is a great way to test out scale and placement for everything from furniture, shelves, rugs to wainscoting!

I hope you get some inspiration from this baby girl nursery decor post!

Comment the word WOOD for everything you need to k Comment the word WOOD for everything you need to know to make choosing wood floors simple.

I make it easy and answer things like “what direction do I lay them?”

I was pregnant when we were renovating this home and I make different kinds of decisions when I’m pregnant. Anyone else?

I started thinking I wanted tile-wood-look flooring or fake wood because I saw all these Texas homes that did not use wood.

There must be a reason?

Was it the weather? The cost bc the homes are big? Pets? I thought I’d be responsible and choose something hardy…

Except I only like wood!

It’s really a personal preference and a lifestyle thing.
I LOVE natural materials and there is nothing like wood flooring to make a home feel cozy and expensive.

Almost 7 years later and we are still in love with these.
The feeling of your home is so powerful in creating the movie in your mind of what a dream life really is.

Renovations can feel overwhelming. It’s all about prioritizing what’s important to you and knowing what you love.

The high kitchen shelf from Nancy Meyers’ “It’s Co The high kitchen shelf from Nancy Meyers’ “It’s Complicated” kitchen was living rent free in my brain.

I’ve lived so so many places as a kid and adult. Whenever I move into a place and it feels sterile, I stress!

I need a lived in feeling and this dining room was giving me temporary apartment vibes.

Seriously, decor and design can make ANY space feel like a home. Your home.

I spend a lot of time sanding this. It was actually really therapeutic actually as I was processing the passing of an old friend.

I was also caught grief sanding in my garage wearing what I call my urban YETI uniform when a neighbor dropped by.

I looked like a crazy person (I am). It gave me a laugh.

I love how it turned out. It gives the space an opportunity for decorative objects, and feels like a cozy little roof.

It also turned the blinds into a sort of inset blind vibe that elevates the tone.

I had these outside mounted so they match the rest of the room where some windows require it.

It’s 8 inches deep. That’s the measurement that felt right and it fit my future French soup tureens.

You’ve got to take a chance if you want something incredible. It’s just nails, paint and time. It holds the feeling of your home.

When your home reflects what you feel inside, your experience in life just improves everywhere.

The baby diaper brown paint was stealing my joy! I The baby diaper brown paint was stealing my joy! It felt overwhelming to figure out the style, solutions and repairs this patio needed.

When you’re overwhelmed, it’s just that you’ve got to figure out your priorities.

When Everything feels equally important the list is too long and you feel paralyzed with where to start.

This goes for your day today-unspiral from the overwhelm and focus on the priorities.

When I was ready to stop looking at that terrible color, I got out the paint samples and started imagining the deck all white.

What helped me what visiting a nearby winery that had a similar structure. It was Texas but still had a European vibe and fit into the landscape.

Get out there and soak up some beautiful inspiration.

I made this project my focus for a month and then called the painters and then moved on to the rest of the exterior in chunks. Then it was time to call the painters!

to say I’m obsessed with it would be an understatement.

It brightens this whole room

The green trees on the property just pop against it. The blue of the water looks even more crystal clear.

This big blank wall in the living room made me fee This big blank wall in the living room made me feel like I was living in a box with no personality or charm.

It felt so drab and cold.

Without even measuring, I purchased the sideboard on the spot at @theporch in Round Top and brought it home.

It fit!

I knew it was me because it had neutral tones and a french feel.

It has evolved over the years and it almost feels like a built in part of our home at this point.

The large art was a definite yes. I had seen it for years and it felt so me.

That’s how I know an investment piece is right-it will feel so YOU!

The formula for this vignette:
A base piece of furniture
Large scale art
Picture Light
Frames
Lamps
Piled books
Objects of interest

You can feel even in this small area before and after design that the feeling has changed!

Tiny changes create massive emotional shifts.

Now this space makes me feel comforted, rich in life and rooted.

Comment COLOR and I’ll dm you the exact colors/bra Comment COLOR and I’ll dm you the exact colors/brands that we used to achieve this look.

We lived here for years before tackling the exterior and it was kind of painful.

Every time I’d drive home, I knew I loved my house but geez it was so BROWN!

It felt like an old mission or outpost.

It didn’t feel like me and it kind of dragged me down.

I’m a woman who lives a beautiful life, what’s wrong with my house? ha!

I kept looking at photos of other homes to see what could be achieved here.

although I couldn’t find exact matches, I got inspired and bold.

I knew I was always drawn to white and yellow homes the most so I just started testing.

It was horrifying part way through because there is no going back!

Remember this: You have to see it in your mind first and then it can become a reality. It’s ok if it takes a few steps in the wrong direction, just keep at it and the look will come to life in your mind.

You’ll know when it’s right. Then call the painters!
