Our Home Details: Paint, Floors & more!

Hi! Welcome to our home! Here I’ll share the details of our FLOORS, paint colors, lighting, hardware, things that are a a part of or attached to our home etc. I hope you enjoy it and find some inspiration for your own home!

Flooring

We chose a European Oak. We wanted a European farmhouse feel here. We brought home a few samples to see what undertones were picked up with the natural light of our home. This one has a slight pink color and that is counterbalanced by all the green undertones brought in from the trees all around the house.

This flooring is by Greenworld Industries, their European collection in Paris. It has a nice matte finish and feels great on our feet. We don’t wear shoes inside.

See the amazing process of how they broke up all the tile and installed the beautiful wood flooring HERE.

Paint

The main color of the walls is Benjamin Moore Simply White in Satin finish. It holds its own and brightens up the space while softening the feeling of each room. The rock fireplace wall was a big factor in choosing a color scheme.

Our cabinets and builtin entertainment center are also painted Simply White.

The trim is all Sherwin Williams Snowbound in Semigloss. It is a cool tone with a touch of gray. It has a gentle contrast with the Simply White and feels classic and clean.

Windows

These windows are original to the house! I love the grid style that is in between the panes. Easy to clean and gives that fresh, custom home feeling.

They are a griege color and break up all the white.

Lighting

We chose brass lighting elements to add soft and sophisticated touches in our main open area.

We continued with brass accents in our kitchen. See more on the remodel process where we kept the kitchen boxes and put in all new hinges, cabinet doors and drawers HERE.

Comment SHIPLAP for my blog post with closeups and Comment SHIPLAP for my blog post with closeups and details.

This is an elegant solution to a giant 90’s, pitched blank wall.

I stared at this wall for so long trying to squeeze an idea out. At one point I used painters tape to lay out a gallery wall.

I stayed up late one winter night, painting art to hang in frames but it felt too busy.
SCALE is a huge part of your home vibe.

Too many little things on this wall made it feel cheap and messy.

Trims are the first place I go when I want a space to look expensive and lived in.

Shiplap was a perfect solution.

I love how the carpenters trimmed it out (more on the blog).

I ended up making a frame myself and doing a plain canvas art inside. It feels calm and “done.”

So much has to do with the styling too.
I’ve added more patterns, color and character over the years.

One of my fave home renovation before and afters that went up in just a day (painted on next day).

When we moved in it felt really stark, basic and builder-grade but now it feels like home.

Want more ways to see the potential of your own home- then follow along @christinajwarren to see what is possible.
I got pregnant with our youngest child (4th child) I got pregnant with our youngest child (4th child) when I was 43. This was after 2 miscarriages.

Even those previous pregnancies looked better on labs and scans but this time the labs and scans said a miscarrage was 100% going to happen.

I was so confused. I knew my baby girl was coming.

I had prayed the St. Theresa Novena and received a rose. I was getting older. A third miscarriage in a row? How?

I remember crying in the office after the doctor left the room. No, not again. I loved that little baby already. It did feel different this time.

There are things in this world that we cannot see that are working at all times all around us.

I was so deeply connected to that energy during her pregnancy.
The doctor was shocked at every appointment.

My labs and scans quickly and dramatically improved and she was here.
Transforming this room for her was very joyful work.

Once I was holding her and I looked into her eyes. I said, “We have been waiting for you, little one.” I had a tear in my eye.

Her expression was so different than what I had seen from her before. She looked into my eyes with a searching look.

Then she hugged me and said, “Mommy, I love you so much.”

Our lives can change in an instant. They aren’t’ fixed. Possibility is everywhere.

Comment the word PLANT for all my houseplant info- Comment the word PLANT for all my houseplant info-what I have, how to care etc.

My girl math says anything over 8 pounds doesn’t go back to the store.

That’s kind of untrue…if it’s over 8 pounds, I’ll ask my husband to do it!

This is made for outdoor but I love the tulip like vibe to it and I am freshening up some little decor items around the house.

It feels so good in here.

The texture and weight of this planter made me love it too. It looks expensive and it’s not going to tip over with my giant plants.

Our houseplants make our home. I HIGHLY recommend you get some if you don’t already.

Ask me your questions in the comments. 🪴

House plants make your home cozy, fresh and alive. The energy is palpable.

My husband brought home a gorgeous arrangement lik My husband brought home a gorgeous arrangement like this from the florist on my birthday and I’ve been recreating it with grocery store flowers ever since.

it’s simply one bunch of hydrangeas (3stems) and one bouquet of peonies.

you can make this so quickly and it looks like an arrangement that belongs on someone’s desk or side table at an estate. Just that little extra thing that is over the top but changes everything.

I find the cutest vessels at home goods and then place a smaller glass container inside.

This floral arrangement is so fast, great for making your home feel luxurious and beautiful.

You know I love the faux florals these days but nothing makes you feel like you’re thriving like a fresh bouquet.

That raises your vibe which raises your experience.

Wishing you a great day!

Comment the word WOOD for everything you need to k Comment the word WOOD for everything you need to know to make choosing wood floors simple.

I make it easy and answer things like “what direction do I lay them?”

I was pregnant when we were renovating this home and I make different kinds of decisions when I’m pregnant. Anyone else?

I started thinking I wanted tile-wood-look flooring or fake wood because I saw all these Texas homes that did not use wood.

There must be a reason?

Was it the weather? The cost bc the homes are big? Pets? I thought I’d be responsible and choose something hardy…

Except I only like wood!

It’s really a personal preference and a lifestyle thing.
I LOVE natural materials and there is nothing like wood flooring to make a home feel cozy and expensive.

Almost 7 years later and we are still in love with these.
The feeling of your home is so powerful in creating the movie in your mind of what a dream life really is.

Renovations can feel overwhelming. It’s all about prioritizing what’s important to you and knowing what you love.
