My kids love novelty! A new treat is their love language. I had some puff pastry in the freezer and they flipped! A little Valentine for my Valentines!
This recipe is just puff pastry, sugar and patience.
Defrost the frozen puff pastry for 40 minutes.
sprinkle with lots of sugar and roll until it’s about 13″ X 13″
Preheat oven 400 degrees
fold toward the center, fridge for 15 mins, cut, dip both sides in sugar and bake on one side for 12 mins.
Flip and bake for 5 mins.
I got this recipe from a sweet food blogger named Jessica, on her blog HERE.
TIP: make your roll tightly or pinch shapes really well before baking, otherwise I saw that they puffed open, out of the heart shape. Even if they puff open, use the backs of 2 forks to reshape them into hearts before flipping over to bake on the other side. This is probably sacrilege to the art of puff pastry but hey, they turned out cute and we loved them. HA!
The kids LOVED them…especially with the chocolate hazelnut spread. 🙂 Hope you enjoy them too! Great with coffee too for your big loves!
