Dear body, if the baby gets hungry at 3:30 a.m., please remember that there is plenty of “energy” in my thighs. Actually, please use the energy in my tricep area first then move onto the thighs if necessary. You must have forgotten about those spots because I had to wake up and eat cereal…then half a bagel. I’m not proud of it but it was the only way I could get back to bed.
What did I do in my living room in the middle of the night the other night? I noshed and FINALLY read the instruction manual for my camera. I searched Pinterest for tips on how to take better indoor photos. My camera is an Olympus EPM2. It’s what is known as a 4/3 camera, not a DSLR. It does have a big lens and manual settings so I got to studying. Then I couldn’t WAIT for the sun to come up so I could practice with the settings.
Here’s a sampling:
I blasted the ISO on this egg photo and I enjoy the “noise” it created. I like the softer look.
Charlie cooperated for some side lighting on the couch.
Outdoor photos are SO much easier to take with auto settings. Here is one in the shade on a sunny day some time around 2:00 in the afternoon by my friend, Jen.

Thien, I LOVE human subjects in photos and since I spend a lot of time with myself now…I’ll be in more photos! Yes, I’ve been snapping like crazy. I’m addicted!!

Remember that you need to eat a few more calories right now. 🙂 Great pictures!

LOL Thanks, Becca 🙂 It’s this funny love hate with the bod these days. On the one hand, I LOVE my pregnant belly…then I’m like, “Hey, love handle, where’d you come from?”

Thanks, Abby! I’m trying to add more photos of myself to the blog. It’s hard!

Thanks, Jackie!
The middle of the night may be the only time to study in the near future! 🙂

Wow, awesome photos for a not-DSLR camera! quality is one in the same! And yeah, any outdoor pictures are always so much easier to work with. Indoor is the challenge, but you did great!
Christina Warren says
Thanks, Julie! It’s nice because of the compact size-for quality ratio. I gotta work on composition too!
Chelsea says
Haha! Love the first part of this. So funny.
Christina Warren says
LOL Thanks, Chelsea. That’s literally what I was thinking as I debated on whether or not to try to stay in bed to “ride out” the hunger.
