What a great week! Did you watch The Sound of Music LIVE last night? It was advertised a gazillion times for weeks so I had to do it the honors of a few minutes at least. I was kinda into it but Chris and Charlie were fading quickly so it was Sons of Anarchy on Netflix for a few episodes instead while I messed with photos on my laptop.
1. I went to a nearby Japanese grocery store and it was a walk down memory lane. I’m not Japanese but I lived there for 8 years (ages 8-16). EVERYTHING in Japan is cute-like these little lunch toothpicks for instance. I’m not ever going to eat my apple slices with dirty little again!
2. Have you ever had one of these? It’s a soda bottle that has a marble at the top, sealing the opening. In order to “open” the bottle, you have to push/pop the marble down. The marble then falls into the small upper chamber of the glass bottle and then it’s like a game with every sip-you can’t let the marble get up to the lip of the bottle to seal the opening or else you won’t get any soda! This blue cat guy has been popular for eons.
3. Japanese grocery stores always have really pretty dishes and plates. A friend of mine buys the little soy sauce dishes to use as her supplement pill holders for the following day. She also uses the little rice bowls/plates for cat food! This one could be a really pretty jewelry dish. Stocking stuffers?
4. “Pa” nail polish? How cute! Again, great packaging, sizing and displays with all things Japanese. I used to hang out in the Japanese drug stores for hours going through all the cute things like this.
Want to see something cool and Japanese a friend shared with me this week? THIS has to be the coolest invention ever!!!
5. Love it when Chris does the suit. Nice tie, huh? I had to add it to my faves from the week.
Have an incredible weekend!
