What was the most recent spontaneous thing you’ve done? Spontaneity makes us feel alive and exciting! It’s one of those secrets of successfully happy people. Find some ideas at the end of the post.
Last Tuesday, I was daydreaming of sipping cocktails at a poolside party. VEGAS.COM, two days later and a plane ride had us at the Mandalay Bay “beach.” There was a wave pool, lazy river, sand, beach bars and multiple swimming pools. You can even rent a chair at the adult “toptional” area!
We stayed at “The Hotel” which is the new tower associated with the lovely Mandalay Bay. It had an age-appropriate vibe for us which was perfect. This new portion of the hotel was very swanky and stylish. Loved the sign by the “private” taxi area. Having an exclusive taxi area is AWESOME in Vegas where taxi cues can be up to an hour!
Cool wall art and floral arrangements.
We initially purchased a flight/hotel package for Mandalay Bay. When we arrived they offered an upgrade to The Hotel for $20 a night more and it was SO worth it! We had a separate living room and bedroom…and get this TWO BATHROOMS! Here returns the romance! We only have one bathroom at home!
The Michael Jackson ONE Cirque du Soleil show just opened here. The displays were “sequined-glovey” and magnificent.
Chris found The Barrymore restaurant on Yelp and had a reservation for us. Awesome Old-Hollywood feel. The Jidori Chicken (pinkies UP, people) was out of this world. Truly one of the best meals and dining experiences I’ve had in so long! It was a total GEM hidden away at Royal Resort Las Vegas (nothing to look at from the outside and off the beaten path).
Then a little dice rolling stop at The Hard Rock Hotel. Trying and failing to cool-ly offer David Bowie a sip of gin and tonic.
What about some spontaneity for you this week?
- Take a friend out for a last-minute lunch at a quirky place you’ve heard about
- Try a Korean Spa
- Go shopping for that item that’s been on your wish list FOREVER or pick up a trend
- Find a festival in a nearby city
- Finally attend that concert
It comes down to some risky behavior to get your blood going! It will make work more pleasant and relationships easier! Let me know what you do!
