Whether you have a dislocated shoulder or just broke up with your girlfriend, interviewing a new provider is essential to finding the person who can satisfy your needs. My favorite method is a quick phone interview. All of the professionals I have worked with always make time to have at least a consice initial phone conversation with a potential client/patient (CP). Here are a few questions for your initial call:
1.) What is your specialty?
2.) Have you treated people with my concerns?
3.) What results can I expect after the first appointment?
4.) How much does an initial and follow up appointment cost?
5.) Do you take my insurance?
The rest will be addressed in the first appointment.
A great practictioner should be able to answer these questions in an initial appointment:
- what is my condition/diagnosis?
- can you treat/cure it?
- how long will it take?
- how much will it cost?
- what addition resources do you recommend?
- what can I do to assist in this process?
Were they able to address your concerns? Let me know what your experience was and what additional questions were important to you.
